Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) 

One day course that replaces the HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work course. 
 
This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. 
 
Topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. 
 
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is now included at no extra cost! 
Course Duration : One day 
The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks should be for a minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day. 
 
Assessment 
The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration. 
 
Certificate 
All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. 
 
All candidates receive comprehensive course materials including a first aid kit, resuscitation face, shield and a book.

The roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider 
Assessing an incident 
Treatment of an unconscious casualty who is breathing - recovery position 
Choking 
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) 
Bleeding, grazes, embedded objects 
Automated External Defibrillators (AED) 
Shock 
Burns and scalds 
Fitting and seizures 
Course Completion 
A final assessment of knowledge and skill is a requirement of this programme. 
 
Successful candidates will be awarded a wallet-sized qualification card on completion and receive a full colour A4 certificate. 
 
The qualification is valid for 3 years but the HSE Strongly strongly recommend refresher training every 12 months.
